How to choose the appropriate material to make prototype?
With the development of the industrial society and the continues improvement of the living
standards, people’s demands for living products and desire for innovation are also growing.
So processing enterprises appeared, mainly to satisfy the developed technology and the
new products created by people day by day. They are served for those design, develop,
manufacture and other different enterprises. Develop new products or improve the existing
products, and design new products for them. Provide cooperation and support in prototype
manufacture and mold producing, create the value of each other to achieve a win-win situation.
Different enterprises have different products, the prototype mold also different.So the
material may also different. But the main processing material are as below:
1 . ABS,it is used for general product shell, have good melt adhesive strength, can be
inflicted in surface metallized projects, such as water quality electroplating, vacuum
evaporation plating.The material specifications including plank, round rod, etc.
2. PMMA, namely Acrylic or organic glass. It is good transparent parts, and the best
transparent plank material. Can be inflicted in dyeing, spraying, screen printing method
,etc. The melt adhesive strength is passable, but its weakness is fragile and brittle, it is
not suitable for using at fragile place of hooking structure.
3. PP: Semi-transparent material, good resistance to impact, excellent flexibility, can
be used in strict manufacturing requirement of impact resistance condition. Such as
auto products, the bend packing box.
4.PC: The strength ,roughness, transparency are better material, used for Lens and
parts production of meticulous structure. And the plank with glass fiber to improve
strength and heat resistance, can be used in making parts with high strength in high
temperature.
5.Aluminium magnesium alloy:light weight ,good stength,is the good material which
consumer electronic like to choose. And the weakness is Magnesium is a flammable
metal, environment control is very important when make machine process, mold-making
is very dangerous, there is a lot of machine process engineering after die-casting
production, is the high cost applied material.
