From the current research and application of RP technology,the further research and
development of the rapid prototyping technology basically has the following several aspects:
1)the rapid prototyping material with good development performance, such as low cost,
easy to forming, small deformation, high strength, durability and no pollution forming material.
2)Improve the processing speed and parallel manufacturing method of RP system.
3)Improve the reliability of the rapid prototyping system, improve the productivity and
ability of producing large things, optimize the structure of equipment, especially improve
the precision,surface quality,mechanical and physical properties of forming parts,provide
basis for further mould processing and functional experiment.
4)Develop the high performance RPM software of rapid prototyping.Improve the data
processing speed and accuracy,research and develop the method of directly cutting by
use of CAD raw data,reduce the accuracy loss caused by STL format conversion and
slicing process .
5)Develop new forming energy.
6)The improvement and innovation of rapid prototyping method and the process. Direct
metal forming technology will become a hot spot of the future research and application.
7)The integration research of rapid prototyping technology and CAD, CAE, RT, CAPP and
CAM, together with high precision automatic measurement and reverse engineering.
8)Improve the research of networked services, to realize the remote control.
