The full name of
SLS is selective laser sintering which selectively stratified sintering solid powder. It makes the solidified layer through layer upon layer generating the required parts shape. At first, It uses the slicing software to deal with the parts model produced by CAD to get the parameters of various section shape. As the laser beam scanning track, the laser light beam is controlled by computer. It scans the material powder layer selectively according to the coordinates of the geometry of each layer to sinter them together in the laser irradiation position. After complete a layer of sintering, the next layer scanning sintering with powder, a new layer and a layer sintered together naturally, finally the 3D shape parts are created.

SLS rapid prototyping are as follows:

The SLS rapid prototyping has high flexibility, and it can easily and quickly realize complex parts which is difficult to process by traditional methods such as complex raised sections and hollow parts.

The technology is highly integrated, including computer technology, numerical control technology, laser technology and materials technology.

Its production cycle is short. The technology only takes several hours to a few hours from CAD designing to the machining completed which especially suitable for the development of new products.
