The high speed operation for the surface treatment requirements of the mould,cutting tools,
machinery parts are more and more higher. Extend the service life,reduce the production cost,
create high profit is the common pursuit goal of cutting tool industry.
According to the introducing, There are various types of ceramic epidural developed by PVD
technology, including titanium nitride, titanium carbonitride,titanium carbide ,aluminum oxide,
CrALTiN.These kind of ceramic epidural currently applied into the cutting tool or mold, not only
can improve the surface abrasion resistance of the tool ,but will not lose the metal toughness .
With recent new breakthrough of the machine tool technology,cutting tool has gone to a high
speed, to shorten the cutting time and improve the surface accuracy of the processing tools.
In order to coordinate with the high speed machining ,save processing time and cost greatly,
the improvement of the tool is becoming the most important factor.The quantity of the tungsten
carbide cutting tools is increasing on the market,as it has high surface abrasion resistance
and hardness.
To get the best benefits must select the appropriate surface treatment, the middle ,heavy duty
mold need to use CVD to plate titanium with high temperature ,supplemented by precision
vacuum heat treatment, so that can achieve the acceptable deformation.This part commonly
used in cold forging die ,pumped smoke led module,oil pressure pump led module,tungsten
carbide suction line,draw-tube.In the low or middle load or strict precision tools,mould,and
machinery application,use the low temperature (150 ~ 500) PVD titanium plating is more
appropriate.
High aluminum content of aluminum nitride titanium is easy to generate alumina on the dura
mater surface.This layer of alumina can make the aluminum nitride ceramic membrane
resistance to oxidation temperature up to 923 Celsius, protecting tungsten carbide cutting
tools, and keep high temperature hardness.However, the titanium and carbon nitride titanium
nitride will generate titanium dioxide oxidation film at high temperature, but it is not easy to
stick on the epidural and flake with the chip, the epidural lack protection, rapid oxidation and
degradation as a result.So whether high or low temperature coating surface treatment, must
select the appropriate substrate and the stability of the heat treatment, with fine buffing surface
fine grinding before processing, can be so perfect.
