The Principle of Electroplating
The purpose of electroplating is to plate metal coating on base material,
which change the dimension and surface properties of base material. Electroplating
can strengthen the corrosion resistance of metal, harden, prevent abrasion, improve
electrical conductivity, lubricity, heat resistance and surface aesthetic.
When plating, coated metal or other infusibility materials is made in anode and metal
work to be work is made in cathode. The electro-positive ion on the coated metal is
restored to form coat on the surface of metal. In order to exclude the interference of
other electro-positive ion and make the coat uniformity and fastness, the liquor with
coating metal cation should be used to keep the concentration of coating metal cation.
The principle of electroplating
In the coating bath with electroplate liquid, the prototype which needs to be coated
should be cathode and the plating metal should be anode. Two electric poles are
connected with the cathode and anode of directcurrent main. The electroplate liquid
contains metallic compound, electric salt, buffering agent, PH modifier and additive.
After being charged with electricity, the metal ion in the electroplate liquid form coat
move to cathode under potential difference. The anodic metal come into being and
mental ion enter into electroplate liquid to keep the concentration of coated metal ion.
