Surface Finish of Prototype :The Differences between Anodization and Spraying Painting
Anodization and spraying painting are common surface finish of prototype. Spraying painting
is that painting spray on the surface of prototype. If customer provides the Pantone card number,
prototype factory can spary corresponding color. Anodization is that put the aluminum prototype
in medicinal liquid .And medicinal liquid corrode into aluminum prototype to make it oxidizing reaction.
Thus, the color of surface of aluminum prototype can be changed. Although both anodization and
spraying painting make the surface of prototype with color, they have some differences.
1. Different materials require different surface finish. Spraying painting can be suitable for
many materials---metal, plastic and resin. However, anodization is just suitable for metal prototype.
2. The durability of color is different.Spraying painting just spray a layer of painting on the surface of
prototype. It will fall off with the time elapsing. Anodization is that put the aluminum prototype in
medicinal liquid to make it a layer of oxidation film on the surface. When anodized, the surface of
alumina is a stable substance, which is difficult to anodize with air. So the surface color is stable
and not easy to fall off.
3. Different effect. The color after anodized is metallic which is very high-end, elegant and
magnificent. Spraying painting can not to paint this effect. If the color of spraying painting has 80%
similarity with the color of anodixation, it is very good.
Above is the differences between nodization and spraying painting,
hoping it can help you to understand.
