Generally,the design process of the plastic prototype as the belows:
1.Plastic prototype design is according to customer's product to make structure position
(including the parting surface, the draft angle, structure), use the mold flow analysis software to
determine the optimal location of intersection, make assembly drawing (small companies may
use UG + CAD method ),and deliver to customer to confirm, at the same time put forward some
amendments on the product design .
2.According customer’s feedback,start to make the 3D mould(Pay attention to read customer’s
task carefully,understand the product shrinkage,the specification of the standard parts,and the
glue get in form.
3.Purchasing steel and standard parts. Order the mould base (some companies can make the
mould base by themselves)
4.Make the 2D drawing,assembly drawing ,and then send to the on-site.
5.Design must be timely tracking site processing, solve the problems in the processing (no one
can make successful design with only once,it will make optimized design for the reasonable
processing technology, of course, a good design can control the problem in the lowest level)
6.Test mould, the design need to according to the results of the test to make adjustment and
optimize to the prototype.
7.Change,the design need to according customer’s requirements to change the mould.
8.File organize and archive,a clever design can make up some good structure and save as their
own things.
