PP (polypropylene) plastic is another good resin after development of nylon , it is a kind of linear
polymer with high density, no side chain,high crystallization , with excellent comprehensive
performance. It is translucent white and waxy before coloring.Lighter than polyethylene,
transparency is better than polyethylene, harder than polyethylene.
The characteristics of the PP plastic:

1.Flammability
PP plastic is easy to melt and drop when burns on the colorless flame , with smoke, and flames
under the yellow and blue,keep burning away from fire, emitting oil flavor after burning.

2.Solubility
PP plastic soluble in p-xylene, insoluble in acetone and ether.

3.Density
The density of the PP plastic is 0.91g/cm3-0.96g/cm3.

4.Sensitive to UV
It’s easy to identify whether it is polypropylene by the methods of infrared spectrum (FTIR), and
can distinguish the homopolymerization, copolymerization and atactic polypropylene.
