How to Calculate the Price of Prototype
Our salesman always recieve such emails that some customers
will ask the price of XX prototype after they browse our website.
In such situation, our saleman cannot quote the price without
knowing the accurate dimension and 3D drawing of prototype
customer want to make. When we know the related data, we
will refer other factor to caculate the accurate price of prototype.
If you want to make CNC prototype, we will consider the
following factors.
1.The precision and surface roughness of machined parts:
if the machined parts need to reach the tolerance requirement
of 0.01mm, it is a high requirement of both machining equipment
and skilled worker. So the cost will increase relatively.
2.The structure and size of manchined parts: if the structure
of parts is complex, the manufacturing cost is also increase.
If the overall dimensions of parts is very big or its appearance
is curved surface shape, the manufacturing cost also increase.
3.The material of machined parts is difficult-to-machine material,
such as stainless steel. The hardness of material is big. It needs
the tool with harden tungsten steel to machine. So the manufacturing
cost is higher than the cost of common material.
3.The technology of CNC prototype is much more, which includes
CNC machining, polishing, spray painting, silk-screen, brushing,
watermake, electroplating, laser etching and so on.
If you want to make 3D printing prototype, we will caculate the raw
material your prototype need according to your 3D drawing.
If your prototype need to manufacture according to vaccum casting,
the price of prototype will be caculated with another method.
a prototype need to make with CNC or SLA befor vacuum casting.
And then we will make a silicone mould according this prototype
and copy with this silicone mould. So when we quote the price of
vacuum casting, we have to quote the prices of prototype sample ,
silicone mould and the copy prototype.
