The difference between the CNC prototype and mold

First of all, let’s talk about what is prototype? Generally speaking, the prototype is the functional model used to check the rationality of the appearance or structure according to the appearance drawing or structure drawing to make one or several units without opening the mold.
So what’s the difference between the CNC prototype and mold? Now, let’s explain it as follows.

1. Different tools: processing product generally use plane milling drilling and tapping, the mold usually use copper tools with machining cavity.
2. Different program: the program of CNC prototype is very simple, usually using the manual programming is enough. While the program of mold is very long, which need computer programming.
3. Different transfer modes: the processing program of products can directly operate over the tool edge by manual programming. The mold program must be made by computer, then transfer to the machine through R232, CF card LAN.
4. Different processing time: the processing time of the CNC prototype is very short, some products only takes a few seconds. While the mold takes longer time, some products need to takes a few days to make one unit.
