The Features of Silicone Model of Prototype
Silicone prototype is a kind of silicone products of prototype manufacturing.
The silicone of prototype is a kind of flowing liquid. No matter what kind of color,
the quality isn’t changed. The main requirement of silicone prototype is shrink resistant,
no transformation and the product without complicate structure.
The features of silicone prototype:
1. The uasge of silicone prototype is on small piece product or product with elaborate
decorative design. Because the product is very tiny precision,it is very easy to be damaged
when demoulding. So the soft silicone should be taken to manufacture mould.
2. If the big product is to be manufactured,the silicone with high hardness should be used to
make mould. It can keep the product in shape.
3. The hardness will descend 5 degrees when adding 10% silicone oil.The hardness will
descend 10 degrees when adding 20% silicone oil.By that analogy, the more silicone oil added,
the tearing strength become relevant worse. The silicone oil would not be add without special circumstances.
4. The more rolling over silicone, the silicone mould will be better. However,in the prototype design,
it need to make three or four product to customer. So there is no requirement of rolling over silicone.
5. When silicone prototype casting, it will be out of shape after 10 times to 15 times.
The new mould should be made.
