The Difference Between CNC Prototype And Mould
To put it simply,prototype is the sample of product. When design
drawings are finished,they can’t be very prefect to be mass-produced.
If they put into mass-produced and found defect, all products are to
be scrapped,which largely waste manpower,material resources and
time.Generally, prototype is minority sample with short production cycle
and reduce wasting manpower and material resources. The deficiency
of design drawing and improve it, which provide enough basis to volume
production.
Mould is a kind of means of production which can produce the parts
conforming to shape and demension requirement. That is the mould.
The productions such as television,shell of telephone and plastic drum
are produced by heated plastic and poured into mould to cool down.
Steamed cooker also is crushed into such shape with mould from metal
plate. Any product can be manufactured by muold. We can say that no
mould, no production.
Although there are so much difference between prototype and mould,
they also have many relations. In general, customers will confirm the
shape, quality, material after checking out the CNC prototype. After they
confirmed, they will put into mass-product. The manufacturing cost of
many mould are very expensive. The value of large mould are from a
hundred thousand to several millions, especially for medical industry.
If there are any problem during mould installing, it is a big problem.
The prototype can reduce such loss problem.
All in all, prototype manufacturing is to manufactruing better mould.
