The Elements Influencing the Price of CNC Prototype
CNC prototype means prototype manchined by CNC machinery, which
achieve wanted result of product sample after late surface treatment.
Because of high accuracy of CNC prototype, it occupies half position
of prototype industry. Although CNC prototype is very common, many
customers think that it is high price. Actually it dosen’t. Many saleman
quote after looking at 3D drawing. If the 3D drawing includes the
elements below, the manchined difficulty will increase and the price will
higher.
1. The accuracy and surface roughnessof the part needed to be
processed: if the tolerenece of part requires ± 0.01mm, which is
high requirement to both machining equipment and technician, the
price will be relatively high.
2. The structure and dimension of the part needed to be processed:
If the structure of product is complicate, so the cost will be higher than
simple one. If the whole dimension of product is big and appearance
is curved surface shape, the cost also higher.
3. The part needed to be processed is difficult-to-machine material,
such as stainless steel. The hardness of material is big, which need
the tungsten steel tool. So the cost will higher than common mnaterial.
4. The technology of prototype is much more including CNC machining,
polishing, sprying, silk-screen, brushing, watermark, plating, carving.
All in all, the precision, dimension, complexity, material and technological
process will inflence the price of CNC prototype.
